Explore your career: Different people, different nationalities and different organisations. During this event, you will get the chance to meet people who have pursued different careers in health, policy and management. The invitees (see below) have all studied or worked at ESHPM and are very happy to provide you with insights about a variety of careers. After a short introduction of the invitees, you have the chance to speak to them individually and in an informal way. Time to start exploring!

Pharma-day: Young Innovators of Medicine will give you a picture of the career opportunities within the innovative pharmaceutical industry. In addition, they provide an overview of which companies are active in this sector and what is involved in the development of medicines. Afterwards, Novartis is having their company presentation. To close off the day, enjoy the network drink afterwards.

Invitees for ‘Explore Your Career’
Laurens Niëns is researcher healthcare at Netherlands Court of Audit. He obtained a PhD degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and worked as staff member policy and quality at Antes, a mental health care provider which focuses on problems of addiction.
Marianne Tenand is a postdoctoral researcher at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM). Her research focuses on long-term care policies. She obtained a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics and worked in several French research institutes as well as a short-term consultant for an insurers’ organization.
Marijke Bos is senior consultant at KPMG. She studied Health Policy and Management (BSc) and Health Economics, Policy and Law (HEPL) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. After graduating, she started working as consultant at Ecorys.
Michel van Agthoven is director patient access & governmental affairs Netherlands at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. He has a broad experience in the field of health economics and market access, as he worked in several positions at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (PhD candidate), Gilead Sciences, and Johnson & Johnson.
Sebastian Himmler is a PhD student at the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM). His research focuses on the societal value of health and well-being gains. Before starting his PhD, he worked as a research associate at the German research institute WifOR.
Steef Baeten is senior consultant at SiRM, mainly in the field of hospital and pharmaceutical care. He obtained a PhD degree in the field of health economics. He also worked as research consultant at Pharmerit.
